Events for Care Leavers and Children in Care
In 2010, the Cambridge Admissions Office launched Realise – a project designed to encourage more young people in care to consider higher education. See the Snapshots to read what some of our Realise event participants have to say about visiting the University.

|18 February 2014||Work Experience Taster Day at the Fitzwilliam Museum
Students in Years 9-13
This event is for young people in care in Years 9-13 at school and who might be interested in a career in museums. This Work Experience Taster Day with the University of Cambridge Museums allows participants to go behind the scenes at the museums, explore career options, and participate in hands-on activities.
Bookings close at 5pm on Friday 7 February 2014 (or earlier, if the event reaches capacity).

Conduct experiments with scientists at the Sainsbury Laboratory for plant research, including some you can try yourself at home! Plus take part in a university quiz and enjoy a free lunch at a Cambridge College.

Experience the breadth of studying foreign languages through interactive sessions relating languages to society, history, culture, and linguistics. Plus hear about student life from current students, and enjoy a free lunch and tour at Selwyn College.
|21 February 2014||
Take part in some icy experiments and plan your trip to a Polar region at this free day event. Find out about studying at university and working in science research, plus enjoy lunch and a tour of Queens' College.
